Based in New York, No. 288 is led by designers Jung Suh and Benyam Assefa, who draw upon their diverse backgrounds (respectively from South Korea and Ethiopia) to elevate the classic sneaker silhouette into modern craftsmanship with a minimal aesthetic. Each shoe has the Roman numerals ‘II VIII VIII’ hand stitched into the spine, a finishing touch which set their sneakers apart. The Grand Sneaker is a classic lace up sports sneaker constructed from pure calfskin leather with tonal suede heel tab. Sat upon a rubber outsole, they feature stitched upper detailing and padded ankle, finished with a leather insole.
