This season marks esteemed designer Taka Hayashi’s 17th collection with Vans . Continuing to show influences from Native American culture in his designs, Hayashi’s attention to detail is second to none. Built from nubuck leather uppers, this Sk8 Skool LX takes cues from original designs but is elevated with innovative elements like the icon side stripe being reimagined in a top stitched iteration and contrasting ‘destroy’ panel to the front of the shoe. The supple leather uppers are fastened with rope-like laces, sitting upon the striped waffle rubber outsole and finished with collaborative branding to the tongue and heel decal.
