When Belgian designer Raf Simons unveiled his SS'17 runway collection in Florence each look included a printed rendition of a piece of work from divisive American photographer, Robert Mapplethorpe. Famed for imagery composed almost entirely in a highly stylized black and white palette, Mapplethorpe's back catalogue features portraits of the celebrities that defined the era in which he worked. For this lightweight cotton tee Simons' uses an image taken of Talking Head's founder David Bryne, printed it in a large format to the chest.
