Angelo Baque is no stranger to a collaboration with ASICS . And nor is the designer unfamiliar with reworking the Japanese label’s performance runners, either. This is, however, the first partnership directly under his name — and not with his Awake NY label — and the approach is bold, even by the GEL Kayano 14’s usual standards. There are vibrant shades of blue, orange, yellow and green that appear throughout — covering everything from the sporty mesh uppers to its GEL-cushioned sole — as well as Baque’s name printed at one heel in his usual cursive font.
