The 501® jean is an undisputed icon. So much so, in fact, that May 20th — which marks the anniversary of the cult favourite — is named 501® day. And to celebrate, Levi’s Vintage Clothing creates 501 hand-numbered pairs of the 1955 Japan 501®. They’re made using premium, dark washed selvedge denim and feature every single detail you’d find on the archival classic, with the back patch, Red Tab™ and rivets all as they were in ’55. Even the stamping on the buttons is the same, too, which is translated into Japanese.
