Taking on Bryant’s signature Kobe XI Elite model, Nike create the ‘Achilles Heel’, inspired Greek mythology’s warrior Achilles. Famed for being invulnerable throughout his body, except from his heel, which would in turn lead to Achilles demise when an arrow struck him in the heel during the siege of Troy. The ‘Achilles Heel’ is constructed with a graphic representation of the hero on the right heel whilst the left foot features four-stitch marks to represent the four feet of thread used during Bryant’s Achilles surgery in 2013.
