Carried out by a handful of skilled manufacturers and named 'Ka-ryu' in Japanese, this process involves each pair of shoes being kiln-fired, giving their rubber soles a uniquely flexible and highly durable finish. Hand stitched in Japan, this indigo pair is finished off with a wax stamp style sole decal depicting the 'Uchide no kozuchi', a magic mallet that is steeped in traditional mythology.
